Look who’s spreading Jew hatred

LANA MELMAN, THE TIMES OF ISRAEL - SEPT. 21

Like many supporters of the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel, Pink Floyd co-founder, Roger Waters, claims he does not have an anti-Semitic bone in his body. Yet just a couple of months ago in an interview for Shehab, a Hamas affiliated news agency in Gaza, he borrows liberally from the Protocols of Zion and wields a modern-day blood libel in his denunciation of the Jewish homeland.

The Protocols of Zion is a fabricated, virulently anti-Semitic text purporting to describe a Jewish plan for global domination. In the Shehab interview, Waters angrily accuses Sheldon Adelson, an American Jew, of being a puppet master controlling the strings of power in the United States government. He accuses this “incredibly rich” Jew (sinisterly rubbing his fingers together lest we fail to associate “rich Jew” with greed) of believing that “only Jewish people are completely human and that everybody else on earth is there to serve them.”

As for the anti-Semitic blood libel trope which accuses Jews of depravity and murder? Waters blames the killing of George Floyd on the Israelis. He claims that the Americans asked the Israelis to teach them how to “murder the Blacks because they have seen how efficiently Israelis have been in murdering Palestinians… And the Israelis are proud of it! They are [saying] look how good we are at this!”

BDS is fomenting anti-Semitism and Jew-hatred is on the rise across the globe. It is not just over there in the Middle East and Europe; it is here – in America. It is being taught in our schools and it is permeating our culture. It is being disseminated by our everyday technology.

It is time to point the finger of shame not just at hate mongers like Waters but at the media platforms that help them spread their slander.

On SEPTEMBER 27, Zoom Video Corporation is promoting Jew-hatred by providing a platform for Leila Khaled, a Jew-hater and terrorist, to teach at San Francisco State University (SFSU). Khaled is a leader of the PFLP, a designated terrorist organization, and participated in the 1969 hijacking of TWA flight 840. She is banned from entering the USA because of her extremism, yet Zoom is providing her a podium to spread her venom to young college students.

Liberate Art is among the many organizations demanding that Zoom denounce the use of its platform to promote Jew-hatred. It is co-sponsoring a PROTEST at Zoom’s headquarters at 55 Almaden Blvd., San Jose, California on SEPTEMBER 22 at 4:30 pm/PDT.

We are also calling for a one-day ZOOM BLACKOUT on SEPTEMBER 23. and are adding the hashtag #EndJewHatred to our Zoom screen names hereafter.
