April 29, #EndJewHatred Day

On April 29, #EndJewHatred Day
“I stand in solidarity with the Jewish people.”
#EndJewHatred Day is a day of empowerment for the Jewish people - a day on which we come together as a community, with our allies, setting aside political differences, and commit to working together to achieve a future in which Jew-hatred is as unacceptable in society as every other form of racism and bigotry.
Jews have a very specific world experience which includes thousands of years of persecution and mass genocide. We are disproportionately victims of hate crimes and hate speech. This has resulted in that sinking, awful feeling that we must always be careful and always ready for the worst. Vicious attacks on the only Jewish homeland and chronic calls for its extinction amplify that insecurity.
We are living in a time of chaos and fear but also possibility. As other communities raise their voices across the country demanding positive change, so must we.
Jews are being scapegoated on both the right and the left and dangerous antisemitic speech receives a muted response or is brushed off and tolerated. The #EndJewHatred movement is demanding equal treatment for Jews and social and legal consequences for the unique expression of hatred that threatens our safety.
Dozens of Democratic and Republican lawmakers have claimed April 29 to be #EndJewhatred Day, a nonpartisan day of pride, unity, and solidarity with the Jewish community.
On behalf of the Movement, which I am proud to have co-founded, I ask you to send a message this #EndJewHatred day (April 29) to empower one another and confront this bigotry.
Share this message with your friends on social media and through emails. Use the hashtag #EndJewHatred and them know - YOU stand in solidarity with the Jewish people.
